Jump in, we're going driving!

This campaign captures our love for character-driven storytelling, blending radiant CG animation with refined design sensibilities to create vehicles that feel alive, expressive, and deeply relatable. We aimed for the perfect balance between realism and stylization. Our cars remain sleek and modern, with headlights functioning as expressive eyes and mouth movements seamlessly integrated into their bumper trim. The animation prioritizes mechanical authenticity—respecting gravity and hydraulics—while allowing room for nuanced performance and character personality. Our human characters, diverse and distinct, complement their automotive counterparts with detailed textures, naturalistic proportions, and expressive, dialogue-driven interactions.

The world-building in this campaign extends beyond the gas station, placing our characters in cinematic landscapes that capture the feeling of long journeys. It's a world full of travel and possibility, living just down the road. From scenic coastal highways to bustling city streets, each setting enhances the narrative, making the world feel expansive and full of life. Through vibrant lighting, rich environmental details, and dynamic camera work, we transformed everyday moments into visually exciting storytelling.

The Case Study

"Car designs began with the simplest form of character creation: emotion sketches on paper. Creating a foundation for the mechanical features of an expressive character with many stories to tell. Structural curves and CG silhouettes began to take shape with kitbashed elements, smashed together like molding from clay."

"Rigging the cars was a pivotal stage where the fluid artistry of 2D illustration met the rigid precision of CG math. Hard surfaces and mechanical constraints clashed with the organic fluidity of character design. Pushing the limits of these technical tools gave animators an arsenal of power to breathe life into these characters through movement and form."
