Frost Bite Zero Sugar
To capture the intensely refreshing flavor and signature bite of MTN DEW’s Frost Bite Zero Sugar, we teamed up with creative collective Motive and imagined the thrilling chaos that lurks within every bottle. Naturally, we decided that hordes of frost-sharks would be tearing through the torrents of chilling Frost Bite seas and slashing through the jagged iceberg plateaus, complete with ice-studded sides and glowing red eyes. We then wrapped the arctic seascapes in a graphic novel aesthetic of halftone textures and sharp lines to create scenes that were both bone-chilling and surprisingly fresh.

PROCESS
Knowing our sharks needed aggressive, dynamic movement as they ripped across screen, we developed a hybrid production approach combining CG creature animation with 2.5D composited environments –all brought together by finessed cel animation to add detail and intensity.
